In this project the 2nd level pine deck was in very rough shape. Deck had a weathered water-based sealer (More than likely Behr). In this first video I go through the overall condition of the deck. Note the mildew, moss, and overall dirt, gunk on the deck. I wasn't sure we could remove most of that failing sealer so I made a recommendation to apply a solid-stain. I only do this in situations where decks are in very rough shape (as a last resort). In the second video I demonstrate the difference a good stripping, pressure washing and brightening make on a deck. Where we had moss, mildew, and remnants of a long ago failing water based stain and seal it is now very clean, PH has been balanced to accept the new stain properly. These are steps that are vital in order to get a long lasting stain and sealer on a deck. Because we were able to clean the deck so well (a pleasant surprise) we went ahead and scheduled to apply a penetrating TWP semi-transparent stain to follow. In this third video I demonstrate the deck after being stained and sealed with TWP 205 'California Cedar' Note that the grain is not just visible, it is accentuated. The TWP 205 not only adds a rich, natural tone to the deck but will hold up very well to heavy afternoon sun exposure. It definitely holds true to its acronym TWP= Total Wood Protectant In the last video our customer was kind enough to offer a quick overview of his overall experience with us. We hope this helps prospective customers to get an idea as to our commitment to excellent service.

We restored a customer's African Mahogany front doors that were looking pretty weather-beaten. Both doors had flaking, yellowed varnish from sun exposure. We restored them to like new condition - with sanding, and multiple coats of High quality marine varnish. I believe we used Either Bartley, Waterlox, or McCloskey - soft gloss (low-lustre) marine varnish. The doors came out looking like new! North Atlanta Pressure and Seal - Ipe, Cumaru, Brazilian hardwood restoration specialists! We also refinish hardwood doors, garage doors as well as decks and fences. We are atlanta's exterior wood restoration craftsmen! Here we have a series of videos of a Kingsley-Bate Teak table & bench set that we restored, and sealed for a customer in Peachtree Corners, GA. The customer had never protected the table-top and had a lot of grease, food stains on the table-top. We went ahead and thoroughly cleaned both tables, and benches, then applied 2 coats of a low-odor teak sealer. First video is before anything was done showing the original condition of the table Second video below shows the benches already done, with the teak table cleaned and sanded. You can see the difference between clean teak, and 2 coats of teak sealer. We used a zero-odor teak sealer which is great as it can be done in close proximity of living spaces without off-gassing, noxious fumes. Last video shows the Teak Table & Bench set project all complete. Notice the nice subtle gloss, and teak grain showing through. The color looks, natural, yet is well protected against food stains, grease, and overall use. We specialize in Teak Refinishing for North Atlanta, GA. Teak, Ipe, Cumaru , and Brazilian wood restoration, and refinishing specialists! Here We have a before video of a Cumaru spiral staircase in Peachtree Corners, GA. Customer mentioned that the company who built the deck treated/oiled the Cumaru with ready-seal which is not the right product to use on Cumaru or Brazilian hardwoods. They were never happy with the final appearance of the Cumaru with ready-seal. Video shows the appearance of the Cumaru before cleaning. Second video below shows the Peachtree Corners, GA Cumaru deck after a thorough cleaning with an oxygen-based cleaner as well as a thorough brightening. Brightening is beneficia/necessaryl as it balances out the PH of the Cumaru, as well as bringing out the grain structure, evening out the wood tone, and really allowing the natural colors to come through! Brightening is a step that cannot be skipped! Fnal video below we see the Cumaru spiral staircase a day after applying Messmer's UV Plus (natural). All the coloring, grain structure can now be seen. Messmer's doesn't impart any coloring to the deck, all you're seeing are the natural colors/variances in the Cumaru. We believe the video speaks for itself. We believe doing things the right way the first time is the way to go. It shows in the final results every single time. This blog post is made up of a series of videos of a deck refurbishing project in Tucker, GA As you can see from the first video below the deck is in pretty rough shape- Homeowner wasn't sure if the deck was salvageable, but we assured him we'd get it back in good shape. This is the deck before doing any pressure washing. It has a ton of mildew, moss, pollen, and overall gunk from years of rain, and dirt. Below is the Tucker, GA deck after a good pressure washing, and brightening. Brightening is a step many deck restoration companies, handymen, and painters skip, and is one of the most important steps to even out wood's appearance, and accentuate the grain. We used plant safe, pet safe chemicals on this deck as home owner has an older dog. We were able to restore the deck to its origina beauty sans a couple dark areas visible in the video where his dog does his business. The difference is incredible! Here you can see the Tucker, GA deck restoration project all complete. - For this project the homeowner and we narrowed the stain and seal to be used - Cabot #3004 'Heartwood' Cabot 3000 series is a penetrating oil-based stain and sealer. A very good product that looks natural, does not hide the grain of the wood, yet adds a natural tone. Homeowner didn't want it looking red, and #3004 has a perefect tone without red in it. I think the video speaks for itself! After the completion of our Tucker, GA deck restoration project the homeowner was kind enough to evaluate, and review how we did on a short video. We strive for 100 percent customer satisfaction, and value every job big, or small. We restore decks, fences, clean stain and seal all exterior wood surfaces - not just in Tucker, GA but in North, Atlanta, ga (Brookhaven, Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and surrounding areas).. |
